Reality 5.3 SP3 distribution introduces new features, enhancements, and bug fixes aimed at improving the overall user experience and functionality.
Highlights
This update enhances Reality with a range of new features and fixes:
- The
TrackedTalentFly
node now gains the capability to create border softness, allowing you refine the area to be keyed for "Flying Camera" scenarios. - Bypassing depth of field for video pixels is now possible via
Video Projection DOFBypass
which you can control the edge contamination on keyed talent when they are out of focus. - The
VideoTranslucencyDetail
property has been added to theCompositePasses
node to allow you to adjust translucency for fine tuning the blending in keying. - The
RealityKeyer
now supports blue screen keying alongside green screen keying, expanding its functionality. ReadVideo
node is now capable of accurate navigation, allowing you to target specific frames, time positions, and timecodes.- Additional broadcast lens calibration files are now available in the Reality Distribution Content.
- The new
3WayColorCorrect
node, allowing for independent control of highlights, mid-tones, and shadows. - Zero Density License Manager is enhanced with the ability to backup, restore with Restore feature along with the Cleanup feature for easily removing expired licenses.
- Reality Hub now supports proxy allowing you routing HTTP/HTTPS connections through a proxy server.
In addition to these highlights, there are several other bug fixes and improvements included in this update.

Reality UE5 Plugin
NEW
- Bypassing depth of field for video pixels is now possible via
Video Projection DOFBypass
property. This feature allows you to have more control on edge contamination (a.k.a halo effect) around keyed talent when they are out of focus.
FIXES
- Changing the default scene root transform via Reality Parent Transform Actor causes Portal Window to get transform override.
- Foreground Mask now dynamically scales with changes in camera resolution and scale factor, ensuring consistent composition across different resolutions.

FIXES
- FOV data is not correctly transferred to the
LensCalibration
node when a lens file (JSON) is added, resulting in flickering.
Reality Hub
NEW
- Playout rundown item buttons now display a visual indicator if a shortcut has been assigned.
- Support for proxying HTTP/HTTPS connections has been added. You can now route both regular and secure web traffic through a designated proxy server.
- Clearing of information within the File Input field is now available for both Compact and Non-Compact Views.
- The response to the listEngines() API call now includes the hostname of the Engine.

- Reality Hub is now capable of effectively terminating the Nodos Launcher.
FIXES
- "Failed to play" error message incorrectly appears when switching between Playout Template Forms while a number field is in focus.
- The MOS plugin creates objects in the database and allows insertion into NRCS stories despite displaying the error "Failed to create MOS Object”.
- Changes to the MOS Object slug are not being reflected in the NCS (ENPS) system.
- Drag and Add buttons in Reality Hub MOS Plugin’s item editing mode are incorrectly displayed even when data isn't changed.

- ZD License Manager user interface and user experience is changed.
- Backing up and restoring licenses is now possible via the new Backup feature.
- Cleanup expired licenses feature is added to the user interface for removing expired licenses.
